Dame Daphne du Maurier is a favourite of ours – so much so – we have several early and first editions of her works for sale at our shop. Including this gem – a first hardcover edition of The Apple Tree – her 1952 collection of stories and novellas – which includes the novelette ‘The Birds’.
The L-Shaped Room is a 1960 novel by Lynne Reid Banks which tells the story of a young woman, unmarried and pregnant, who moves into a London boarding house filled with misfits and outsiders.
